With a surprise visit from her distant mother on tap, Lotte enlists an alcoholic, ex-stand up comic to brutally insult the maligned pair over drinks. The evening takes a madcap, morbid turn nobody sees coming.
A daring, debauched, and (at times) otherworldly comedy, Bringer of Doom was a 2022 Finalist for the Ambassador Theatre Group’s Playwright’s Prize in association with Platform Presents.

ABOUT THE CAST
Lena Drake is best known for her starring role in THE SEND-OFF (Prime Video, AppleTV) but also appeared in Showtime's KIDDING, with Jim Carrey; DINNER IN AMERICA, (Sundance); and ALL HAPPY FAMILIES, produced by Michael Shannon. BRINGER OF DOOM marks Lena's Off-Broadway debut.
David Z. Lanson worked with various theatrical companies and plied his trade at some of New York’s most fertile performance spaces. He balances his on-stage endeavors with commercial and film/TV work, such as THE WOLF OF WALL STREET, PRISON BREAK, and THE FOOD THAT BUILT AMERICA. He’s also performed stand-up comedy at clubs such as Stand Up NY and Comic Strip Live. As an avid amateur historian David also runs and operates his own tour guide company, Detours with Dave.
Laura Botsacos is a bi-coastal actor who performs in film, television, and theater. She has appeared in a variety of network TV shows and independent films in Hollywood, with credits that include co-starring on LAW AND ORDER on NBC, guest starring on BRIMSTONE on FOX and a recurring role on the Amazon series LIVING IN EXILE. She also was cast as a series regular in the television pilot, LOST AND FOUND, which was presented at the Tribeca Film Festival (and for which she walked the red carpet). She has performed at a variety of popular comedy clubs including The Comedy Store in Los Angeles and The Comic Strip Live in New York, as well as in Las Vegas clubs. Laura had the privilege of studying under the tutelage of Sanford Meisner.
James Andrew Fraser — an international actor of stage and screen — is excited to get back on the stage in this hilarious and outrageous play" Bringer of Doom". Today, you can see him in featured roles in "The Enemy Within," "Bull,” "Blue Bloods," and "The Blacklist. "He is currently in pre-production with "Gabriel's Inferno," a series based on the NY Times Bestselling Books. of which he has a leading role. He also just wrapped one of the Leads in the Feature "Family Hug" opposite Eric Roberts & “Tuesday's Flu" alongside Oscar-nominated Jackie Earle Haley, Ross Marquand, and Daniel Roebuck, which will be releasing later this year
THE VENUE
The Players Theatre in the heart of Greenwich Village has been an Off-Broadway destination for nearly eighty years. Sharing a building with Cafe Wha?, a cultural landmark, the theater and its spaces have served as a magnet for performing artists and their audiences.
